Hear His Voice

John 5:28–29

Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. (ESV)

Life doesn’t stop when you die. If fact, it’s really just the beginning. The deceiver wants us to believe that this life is all there is. Eat, drink, and be merry. Get and do as much as you can in your life because you only live once.

Nothing can be further from the truth. John tells us that our bodies will be resurrected when Jesus returns, joining our souls once again. Although we must all die a bodily death on this earth - unless Jesus returns while we are still alive - that isn’t the end. No one will escape the day of judgement.

John tells us about the resurrection of our bodies to life or to judgement. For those who have know Jesus as their Lord and Savior there is no condemnation. Jesus’s blood has covered our sins and we are justified as a result. Know that someday you will hear his voice. Please heed his call while you have breath in this life.
