God's Power

1 Peter 1:3–7 says:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

God’s power extends from our inheritance, eternal life with Him in heaven, to our day-to-day existence on this earth, including the various trials that we experience on a regular basis. The result of this power is that we are able to rejoice because of the living hope we have because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and the security of our faith during the trials in our lives. God reveals his power through us if we abide in him, culminating with the inheritance that God is guarding for us until we see him in heaven.

Psalm 24:7 encourages us to look at things from a heavenly perspective first. Then in light of that, we can face our trials because we serve a God that is guarding our inheritance and cares about each one of us. God guards it knowing exactly when we will finally receive the inheritance of eternal life.
