Spend Lots of Time in God’s Word

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

We need to know God more deeply to love Him with all of our heart, soul, and mind. We know him more deeply by reading His word and meditating on it. When you read a passage of scripture, consider what it says about God's character, God's actions, and God's promises. The primary purpose of the Bible is to reveal the nature of God (theology) and how Jesus redeemed us. Everything in scripture points to Jesus. The Bible is also a roadmap for the Christian life.

"As our passions come from what we know of something, we must give ourselves to knowing God and reflecting on Him. Think deeply and clearly, so as to be able to love God more...we can't love something we don't see clearly."

"We should meditate on God: on His character, His works, and His promises."

"We should speak to God and express our affection for him."
