We Must Proclaim God’s Faithfulness and Love
There is something we must do as Christians; we must allow others to see God’s faithfulness and love. God has brought immense pain and suffering into our lives with the death of Nate. We don’t know why, other than to reveal his glory through us. There is so much more to the story that we’ll never know. If we trust God, we will honor those who have gone to heaven before us.
The story of Stephen is an example of leaving it all out on the field.
Psalm 40:7-10
[7] Then I said, “Behold, I have come;
in the scroll of the book it is written of me:
[8] I delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart.”
[9] I have told the glad news of deliverance
in the great congregation;
behold, I have not restrained my lips,
as you know, O LORD.
[10] I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart;
I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;
I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness
from the great congregation.
Acts 7:58-60
[58] Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. [59] And as they were stoning Stephen, he called out, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” [60] And falling to his knees he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
