His Window
Hebrews 12:1-2
Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Looking beyond what we can see
“And it leads to our Lord and Redeemer. He knew what it was to be “inclosed” for our sake. In that dark hour His window looked out upon another view than this that we see through the window in the wall. He did not see a sunny garden and a shady wood climbing a hillside. His garden was Gethsemane; His hill was Calvary. But He saw beyond that garden and that hill—“Who, for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”” - Amy Carmichael
