God Knows Your Days
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. - Psalm 139:13-16
Our days were written in God’s book
”First of all, I realized that God had created me to be physically the person He wanted me to be, birth defects and all. When I look at David’s phrase, “you knitted me together in my mother’s womb,” I can think, “David, you did not know anything about genetics that we know today,” but the truth is, the Holy Spirit, who guided David to write those words, knows infinitely more about genetics than the most brilliant scientists. So when He guides David to say, “You knitted me together in my mother’s womb,” He is saying that God so controlled the genetics that I became physically exactly the person He wanted me to be. The same is true about the fact that the days that were ordained for me, including those early difficult days, were written in His book before one of them came to be.” - Jerry Bridges
Live with a holy, reverent fear
”Finally the believer responds to this truth with a holy fear. God sees my heart. God knows me thoroughly, my downsitting and my uprising. He knows my evil nature as well as my membership in Christ. That fills me with a reverent fear. What a great God! And I apply myself to a life of thankful holiness without which no man shall see God. And in the confidence of belonging to Christ, I pray, ’Search me, O God, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.’” - (https://www.monergism.com/knowledge-god-0) Rev.
