The Book of Life
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! - John 1:29
Our names are written in the book of life. We will face trials on this earth. We’ll face disease and the death of loved ones. We’ll face our own death. What matters is what has already been accomplished for us as God’s children. God took Nate back to his true home. He is a child of God that was entrusted to us for a short time. We must keep our eyes focused on eternity.
“This man, this Jesus, was God’s Lamb, God’s sacrifice sent to remove from us and to place upon him the sins of the world. How is it that our names are written there, ensuring our admission into that city? Is it because we’ve finally been completely faithful and obedient? No! It’s because all, and I really mean all, of our sins have been borne away, carried away, transferred, sent off into the depths of the sea, by that “Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world” (Revelation 13:8 NIV).” Home: How Heaven & the New Earth Satisfy Our Deepest Longings - Elyse Fitzpatrick
