Draw Near The Throne

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. - Hebrews 4:14-16

“I have failed, Jesus. Help me to begin again. I don’t know where to begin again. You must be my beginning. I also don’t know how to begin again. You must be my power. You must be my strength. Holy Spirit, come to my aid. I have nowhere else to turn. See me now, turning to you.” Canyon Road : A Book of Prayer - Kari Kristina Reeves

Pain

“Pain will so sensibly affect self, as to draw off all our thoughts thither, and centre them there, that we cannot so much employ our cares and our active powers for the benefit of our neighbours : it abates our concern for our friends, and while it awakens the spirit within us into keen sensations, it takes away the activity of the man that feels it from almost all the services of human life. When human nature bears so much it can act but little.” Isaac Watts
