A Personal Friend

"Their talk is more about salvation than about the Savior, more about redemption than about the Redeemer, more about justification than about Jesus and more about Christ's work than about Christ's person." J.C. Ryle

These words hit me pretty hard today. Jesus, creator of the universe, wants a personal relationship with us. So much time and energy are spent studying about what Christ did, which is still profitable and much needed, rather than focusing on our relationship with Jesus. The only one who knows our thoughts, understands our burdens and sorrows, and has orchestrated our lives in a way that ushers in his kingdom can be our best friend.
